Fragments from the lives of Norway’s immigrant population

Norwegian Newcomers is a documentary podcast where the Norwegian immigrant population are the storytellers and share about their personal experiences, hopes, goals and backgrounds.

What is an immigrant?

Where is an immigrant from? What kind of experiences does an immigrant have? The word immigrant is a word used to describe a group of people that come from completely different parts of the globe, and when we start to fragment this term, that’s when we get the good stories. In Norway there are around 800.000 of us, which is a big part of the population. One thing all of us have in common is that we all have gone or are going through the process of getting integrated in Norwegian society. In this podcast I will have one new guest per episode who will tell us a part of their story.

Vedrana Tanovic, became a Norwegian Newcomer in the spring of 2015. She has always been passionate about talking to people and hearing their stories, so she thought; “why not put that passion into a podcast?” - And that's exactly what she's done, and you can hear the result right here!

She produced the first two seasons with Mary Ann Skretteberg Andersen and Mathias Leander Olsen as editors and co-producers from 2020 to 2021.
